Rest day... I guess..

Well It looks like today is my rest day instead of tomorrow like I had planned. It works out better anyways. Sunday we have to get up early for church, so it makes sense for me to get up just a bit sooner and hit the gym. Ate o.k. today. But can always do better. Trying to find some good healthy recipes to make that are fairly easy and quick. If I find any good ones I will be sure and post them. So far it has been eggs, whole wheat english muffin and a sausage link for breakfast, banana, orange and apple for snacks... chicken or turkey wrap for lunch(ham sandwich also) and then chicken breast with potato or rice for dinner. Nothing fancy. But it is working, I have lost 6 lbs so far this week. My legs feel well rested and strong for a good workout tomorrow. Been going through this book that I got, has a lot of great information. "Complete Triathlete Book" by Triathlete magazine. If you are interested in doing one yourself I recommend it so far! Anyways, hopefully sooner than later I will be posting so PR's to brag about... maybe a bike in the future for training... also am hoping to start hitting the pool next week. SO, more to come!

  1. Wow!! 6 pounds!! Awesome Ralph!! Keep it up... you're off to a great start already! Don't get discouraged about the meals part of it... it takes a little time to get used to. Wish I had suggestions for you on meals, but I'm still trying to get some ideas myself. I'll let you know if I find any though, and start searching the internet.
I did a little jog today, well 4 miles of walking and running. Can't believe I'm starting over when I was up to 12 miles... But it's never to late to start again! Would love to possibly do a race, still thinking pear blossom!!
You've really been a motivation to me already!! I love this blog thing!!... so great for you to be accountable. I look forward to your next post!! See you at work!!

  2. Have you tried those steamer bags? You put fish and fresh veggies in and steam for a few minutes in the microwave - having also put in any spices that you like. Tastes great and quick & easy.
